Oklahoma School Revises Hairstyle Policy

After a 7-year-old girl was criticized for her dreadlocks by school administration, her Tulsa, Oklahoma charter school held a board meeting which voted against students wearing afros, dreadlocks, and other hairstyles, determining that parents are responsible for their children's personal hygiene.  The board now reserves the right to contact parents regarding similar hygienic issues.
