Doom

Racheal Myers, 336.002

The zombie apocalypse is upon us. In every corner of the earth, undead humans are resurrecting themselves as if some Woody Harrelson movie, seeking to quench an insatiable hunger for human flesh and the Frostburg State University campus is under direct attack. This was the situation posed to several students and staff members of FSU, with a follow up question, “what are your chances of surviving the zombie apocalypse and why?” The answers were not very positive. Samuel Akyea, an engineering major from Laurel, MD answered “Hell yeah, I would fight them, but chances are I would die of fright before they even touched me.” Similarly, Jessica Cantler, a psychology major from Abingdon, MD did not think her chances were very good, because, admittedly “I’m clumsy. I’m not very observant.” The Associate Chair of the Department of English, Dr. Gerald Snelson added to their thoughts, stating pessimistically that he did not “expect to survive any apocalypse”. Needless to say, if the human race’s last chance of survival rested in the hands of FSU staff and students, they would be doomed.
