The Chances of surviving a Zombie Apocalypse…?
By: Anastasia Akuffo-Afful, ENGL 336.002
Trying to imagine how a zombie apocalypse would take place would be the least of anybody’s imagination. Hoping to get some type of reaction and answer to this horrifying type of event would involve interviewing a group of people. Walking around the campus of Frostburg State University, bumping into a few students or faculty was not going to be a problem.
Approaching the first interviewee, Charles Courtney, who happens to be a library technician working in the department of the library circulation desk, answers the thrilling question. Courtney says energetically, “ my chances of surviving a zombie apocalypse would be an 8 out 10,because most of my workers gave a lower number than I did, so most chances are that I would escape while they are killed”. Walking towards another interviewee was, Florence Young, a librarian technician 3, working in the periodical department. Mind boggling as the question was she answers that, “the chances of my surviving a zombie apocalypse would be a 3 out 10 because if zombies decided to do this it would be catastrophic”! The conversation ended with her in deep thought as to what she would really do if such event was to happen.
Approaching the third interviewee, Aiesha Hoober, who is a sophisticated biology major from Baltimore, Maryland, she says unhopefully, “my chances of surviving a zombie apocalypse would be 2 out of 10 because I wouldn’t be able to kill them and also because the zombies are already dead, they would kill me! From the little bit of people that gave their reaction to this question, there is almost a slim to none chance that people would survive this type of horrific attack.
