Paige Humber: Future Educator of the Masses

by Alex Covington, ENGL 336.002

As an English major with a minor in Philosophy, in addition to a focus in Secondary Education, Paige Humber is well on her way to becoming a successful teacher. In fact this is her plan for her career after college. She intends to move back to Cape Cod, where she originally hails from, in order to teach highschool English. Although she currently resides in Catonsville, she describes herself as having "my heart in Massachusetts." When asked why she decided to attend Frostburg State University, it was revealed that her mother is a teacher at the University of Maryland, College Park. This allows her to attend any Maryland state school for free (with the minor caveat that she maintains a 3.3 GPA). This is certainly an advantage to an enterprising student such as Paige.

In addition to majoring in English, Paige exhibits a studied interest in English literature. As a fan of Jane Austen, Henry David Thoreau, and William Shakespeare, she displays her particular love of classic literature. In addition to her school studies, Paige shows by her job choices that she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She spent the summer working on the maintenance crew at Edgewood Commons. However, it seems that she won't be changing her career choices based on this experience as, in her words, "It sucked." Paige Humber certainly displays a multifaceted personality, as well as a charming demeanour.

Paige Humber is a Junior at Frostburg State University, and plans on graduating in 2013. She is currently 20 years old.
