All About Alyssa

Twenty year old Alyssa Ballard was born on May 20th, 1991 in Alexandria, Virginia. Much to her disdain, most of her life has been lived in Odenton, Maryland, which she describes as “cookie cutter, cut and dry, and disgusting.” Alyssa has five siblings; three younger half brothers, and two stepsisters, one older and one younger. 

Alyssa is an English Literature major at Frostburg State University, with a minor in film studies. While she is not yet sure what she would like to do with her degree once she has graduated, she says she wants to do something productive. 

When asked what she likes to do in her spare time, she sums it up by saying she likes to “be random and do weird things.” Specific examples of her hobbies include memorizing songs in foreign languages, particularly Japanese songs. She also plays piano, reads drama novels, and enjoys watching Nickelodeon. One of her favorite movies is “Dogma” and her favorite color is orange. She believes the color is bright and fun, and fits her personality, which she describes as "zany and fun."

Alyssa does not currently belong to any on campus organizations. She is a fan of baseball and her favorite team is the Baltimore Orioles. She also enjoys color guard and is adamant that it is a sport. 

Emily, Alyssa’s roommate, describes Alyssa as a good friend and someone who is always willing to be there if you need to talk. She also describes living with her as always entertaining and fun. 

In ten years, Alyssa would like to see herself with a husband and children, working a stable job, and having a life that she describes as “complete awesomeness.” Ideally, she would like to live in North Carolina, or some where that is close to home but not too close. 

A cause that Alyssa strongly believes in is blood donation, and she tries to donate often. Little known facts about Alyssa are that she is a strong believer in fate and astrology and her lucky number is four. If she could be any fictional character, she would choose Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series. When asked why she would pick Hermione, Alyssa replied: “Because she is beautiful, smart, and kicks butt.”
