Where Does The Trash Go?

Focus Frostburg is Frostburg States annual day of learning on sustainability and climate awareness. Focus Frostburg is held in the University Lane center and it is a free event. The presentation I watched was called "Where does the trash go" and the presenter's name was Chandler Stroup. The main points of Chandler's argument were the amounts of trash people produce daily, where it goes, how it affects the environment, and alternatives to mass trash production. Chandler also talked about Landfill liner which is a liner that protects the environment from trash. "The 2,000 residents that live on campus generated 8131,229 lbs of trash per week", says Chandler. "A little more than half of all recycled material are paper based". Chandler was discussing trash production in the Frostburg area and said, "The city generates 150 tons of trash per day! approximately, a blue whale." During this presentation I learned that 11 tons of trash are transported from Frostburg to Mountain-view Landfill every week.
