The Relay Was OK

An event which began on Friday, April 15th at 6PM, which ran through 6AM the next morning, was Frostburg's annual "Relay for Life". This special event aims to raise cancer awareness and honor those who have survived this debilitating disease. Hannah Ehlman, who is in charge of Alpha Sigma Tau's contributions, spoke about the hardships that many families face when they have a loved one dealing with cancer. "Some families don't know how much longer they will have a little brother, a little sister, mother or father around for." Speaking while playing sad music in the distant backround. Her speech was mainly concerned with how families are put through the tough stressors which cancer can cause within families. "Some of you are the luckiest people in the world," another powerful and chilling reminder of the cruelty and pain caused by this disease. "Nobody wishes this on anyone." Within the hectic and heavily populated Bobcat Stadium, all sorts of crazy and humorous forms of fundraising were taking place. There was even a male student walking around with a homemade kissing booth attched to his body. Students really thought of all the interesting and fun ways in which some student might be enticed to coughing up money.
