FSU Students Doing Their Part

In the opening hours of the Relay for Life event crowds were beginning to gather. Numerous activities ready to start and people everywhere preparing for the next 24 hours of excitement. Out of the crowd appeared and interesting site.  Frank Taylor requesting kisses from any lucky ladies that may pass by.  Strapped to his person was a contraption with a sign that read, Kissing Booth 25 cents. Frank Taylor is a Frostburg State University student and a member of the FSU Tall and RHA Honors Society. He said he collected 25 cents as he was setting up his booth.  He jokingly said to people around him that, “there was to be a discount depending how attractive the person is.”  Taylor went on to say that, “if gentlemen come buy kisses he would give them a fist pump.”  Mr. Frank Taylor said, “I did the kissing booth for the Relay for Life effort to raise money for the cause, rather than for someone I personally know that has cancer.  I was just doing my best for the Relay for Life cause.”  Frank was camping out at the event and he said “he was going to stay out all night until the event was over.”
Alayna Schley with her Sorority sisters Meghan Flood and Kellen Murphy represented the Alfa Sigma Alfa Sorority. They had collected over seven hundred dollars for the Relay for Life cause.   The group of girls also walked for Ms. Katie Kline, a senior alumni member whose father, Mr. Duke Tran is a cancer survivor.  Of course this is the bigger motivation for their walk.
Representing Omega Kappa Zeta Sorority and Delta Omicron Fraternity, Greg Jaeger and Nailah Hunter did their part. Greg donated twenty dollars for his relay however; his fraternity donated 180 dollars online for the cause.  Greg said, “I’m doing the Relay for Life for my Aunt who died of cancer.” He was participating in memory of her.  Greg went on to say that “it’s very important people come out to the event even if you personally do not know anyone that has or has had cancer, it is something just great to be a part of and donating money is important, but just getting out here is  good too.”
Relay for Life is a wonderful charitable activity. It is one event that brings awareness and money to help find a cure to a horrible human disease.
