The One, The Only, The Keith Raynor

Many students have a story at Frostburg State University, but none tell a story like Keith Raynor. Keith is a 36 year old student at Frostburg State University with intentions of being an English teacher for high school. Prior to his enrollment, Keith was a surgical technologist at Western Maryland Health System in Cumberland. He had worked there since 1994 as a housekeeper. However, Keith was looking for a little something more. “It was time to do something different.” Keith said.
Keith Raynor was born in Baltimore Maryland, but eventually moved up to Frostburg in the late 70’s. He hopes to major in English so he can become a high school teacher and provide for his four year old daughter, Erika. Keith joked that he chose an English major for his profession, as math was not something he enjoyed. “Letters should be used for spelling, not figuring out the answer to an equation.”
Keith Raynor, in the flesh.
When Keith Raynor isn’t in school or at work, he likes to brew his own wine. He mainly brews red wine, but will also brew the occasional white wine. Keith also likes to do woodworking and carpentry on the side. Unfortunately, Keith is divorced, but seems to have good spirits about it as he jokes “Don’t get married! That’s insane!”
Keith Raynor is one of the special people Frostburg State University has to offer, and with the dedication he has to his daughter, hopes to be graduated in one and a half years. To Keith, college is basically just a formality as he strives to reach his goals of being a teacher. “College is like life. You just have to do what they tell you, and you’ll be fine.” A good philosophy to have when you know how the game is played. Keith Raynor is a dedicated student at Frostburg State University, a dedicated father to his daughter, and all in all, a good guy.
