Dominic Rogers: Creative from All Sides

Dominic Rogers: Creative from All Sides
By Keith Raynor

Hailing from Hampstead Maryland in Carroll County, Dominic Rogers is in his junior year at Frostburg State University.  Dominic was born in Florida and moved to Maryland at the age of 8.  The 20-year old enjoys living in Frostburg and said, “The people are friendly.”   The FSU junior is majoring in English with a focus in creative writing. When not consumed with his studies, Dominic enjoys gaming, writing traditional poetry, and short stories.
Stand-up comedy is another interest of the FSU student.  He said “laughter is a drug, I am a dealer.”  Although stand-up comedy is not his career goal, it does give Dominic another creative notch in his belt.
Dominic has an interest in creative writing.  His latest accomplishment is a short story called Killjoy.  The short story was entered in a contest to Glimmer Train, an American literary journal, for publishing.  The literary journal publishes short fictional stories from writers of every background.  When asked about his chances of his work being accepted, he said, “I’m hoping for the best.”
On campus, Dominic is a coordinator for a video game club.  The club plans to meet every Tuesday during the semester.  His favorite genere of games are fantasy and role playing.  After college, Dominic would like to use his creative skills to find a stable job as a writer.  Another career choice Dominic has thought about is using his creative talents writing storylines and background stories for video games.  As Dominic moves forward, his creativeness will light his path to success.
