Sean Truly: Your Writer’s Favorite Writer

Sean Truly: Your Writer’s Favorite Writer

By Andre Arthur, ENGL 336.001

The feature of my classmate profile is 18 year Frostburg State University student Sean Truly. Truly has one sibling, a sister named Amanda, whose a freshman here at Frostburg State university as well. Sean and his family are from the Frostburg area and he has lived here his entire life. Even though he is a sophomore, he is still undecided with his major but is certain that he wants to pursue a career as a journalist or a reporter.

Truly dresses like a normal college student. There’s nothing distinctive or unique in his appearance such as a weird hair style or a unique color scheme as far as his clothing is concerned. I usually see him in the lane center, sitting on the coach in front of the big television wearing headphones and on his laptop.

His hobbies are those of a normal college student: singing, producing music, video games, cars, and mentoring kids. Sean Truly’s summer was spent mentoring kids at a youth group in Cumberland, Maryland and attending a youth summer conference at Michigan State University.

The thing that stuck out to me while interviewing Mr. Truly and I felt that made him different from other students was his passion for writing. His favorite author is Marcus Zusak. Granted many students including myself enjoy writing but not to the extent of writing novels and short stories. Sean is currently working on a novel. The novel is based on a sequel to “Fall Out 3”. When asked about what genre does his like to write he responded, “I write about whatever interests me”.

So when Sean Truly is not in class or listening to music he has produced in the lane, he is working on his novel or another novel that he has in the works. Here is a link that provides a lot of information on Fall Out 3 including the characters and story line:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1073664/. I am confident that his work will be great and be just one of many novels that Truly will write and that readers will enjoy.
