The Amazing Perry Hague

Perry Hague is a smart, interesting new addition to the journalistic 336 writing class. He currently is majoring in sociology, but has decided on no minor.  Perry grew up in Frederick MD and attended Tuscarora high school. Through his high school years, his sport was soccer. He was on the team for a few years.  Perry is currently 21 years old and his class status at Frostburg state university is a senior. Even with graduation coming closer, Perry does have aspirations to go to Grad school. His main option is an epidemiology major. Shrugging his shoulders, he very knowingly expressed this to me as: “This is the study of how diseases are spread.”
The reason why Perry choose sociology? “I chose sociology because I took a sociology class in high school and really liked it. The first day of class I asked how I can do this. My advisor called the chair and got me signed up just like that.” His favorite sociology class was a capstone course he took, where he wrote an eighteen page long essay about the non-smoking ban here at campus. He also took part in finding spots where people actually can go to smoke, making a solution for everyone.  Perry also already has a dream job in mind.  He plans to work for the CDC (centers for disease control and prevention), “I’m trying to prevent the zombie apocalypse”, Perry states. “That way, when we need an antidote, I will have found one.”
Perry is also involved in some organizations here at Frostburg.  He started the Frostburg Frisbee club, where he plays ultimate Frisbee. He is also a member of Alpha Delta Ki fraternity, all 4 years. He says he enjoys Greek life and mainly his fraternity brothers most of all because they are “a group of guys I can always hang with, have fun with all the time”.
Perry has three siblings, a little sister, and two older brothers. His parents also attended college. His father, Bishop went to grad school at the university of William and Mary. His mom, Lydia, went to university of Massachusetts as an undergraduate student.  Perry’s favorite events at Frostburg are homecoming, as well as laser tag. He confided “laser tag was pretty fun.”A favorite rush event he enjoys is the annual beer pong tournament his frat hosts every year, and also rush week. Some fun facts about Perry are:  His favorite food is Chipotle, his favorite color is green, and he has a dog up here at Frostburg, named Ajax. A Pet peeve he also confided to me is he secretly hates Styrofoam; Perry officially states:  “I just hate it so much.” Perry was very open and truly optimistic about his future.  The world, should it actually endure the zombie apocalypse, will have the man with the answer, and his name is Perry Hague.
