Johann Says Bye To Frostburg

By Olivia Flisher, ENGL 336.003

Born in Washington DC, Johann had a couple different homes before his family finally settled down in Rockville, Maryland. He is the oldest child with a younger brother and two younger sisters. His mother is a physical therapist while his dad is in personal training. Johann’s family is very close and always goes to his grandmother’s house is Pennsylvania for the holidays with his many cousins. His favorite holiday to spend there is Christmas. Johann went to Winston Churchill High School and played football and basketball while at school there. He also loves to watch sports. His favorite thing to watch on television is ESPN (http://espn.go.com/). Some of his favorite teams are the Redskins, the Wizards, the Yankees and any University of Maryland, College Park team. Johann’s other favorite things are steak, favorite flavor of ice cream is cake batter and his favorite music to listen to is rap, mostly Lil’ Wayne. He hates flying and Harry Potter. Johann said “I don’t get what’s so good about it. I saw the first Harry Potter movie and thought it was boring.” He also talked about how he would never go see another one again. When asked if he would rather be hot or cold, Johann stated, “I would rather be in the sweltering heat with a clothes someone would wear while going into the frozen tundra rather than being in the freezing cold with no clothes on because then I wouldn’t die.”

Today, Johann is a sophomore at Frostburg and is majoring in Law and Society. He is taking English 336 because he needed it for a higher level for English. His second choice for a school to go to was West Virginia University. He chose Frostburg because it is cheaper. He parents are also happy he came to Frostburg, even though he plans to transfer to Towson next semester because it is closer to home. Johann traveled to Mexico over winter break and said “I loved it! I want to go back again.” In ten years, he sees himself living in Washington DC, maybe married with a kid or two, working as a lawyer or with law enforcement.

Olivia, you never tell us Johann's full name, and you include no link. Also, one quote is garbled, and at one point you type "is" instead of "in."
