Aspiring Literature Teacher: Sarah Boersig

Sarah Boersig, an English major with a concentration in Literature at Frostburg State University, hopes to one day become a high school literature teacher. "I plan on going into the MAT program here at Frostburg and to get my Masters in Secondary Education," Sarah stated. A transfer student from St. Mary's College, Sarah was born on December 27, 1988 and is the oldest of three siblings. Sarah has two younger sisters, Meghan (20) and Hayley (16). Sarah has lived in six states due to her father being in the Marine Corp. Hendersonville, Tennessee being one of the six states where she attended Pope John Paul II High School. Sarah now lives in Mt. Airy, Maryland located in Carroll County, in which she really enjoys. Sarah commented "I'd like to know what it feels to have a sense of permaniance in your home," when asked if she enjoyed moving. When she is older with a family she prefers to stay in one place. With all the moves, Sarah became very close with her siblings because they had to experience everything together, especially Meghan who is only 22 months younger then her.

In her spare time, Sarah is a member of the off-campus soroity Kappa Gamma Delta. After joining her sophomore year, Sarah enjoys being involved in a sorority, it has helped her learn a lot about organizations and leadership all while having fun and meeting new people. Sarah also enjoys swimming stating, "I swam a lot when I was younger, we lived in New Jersey and I saw a lot there." She was a member of the swim team at her high school during her sophomore, junior and senior year. After reading the Harry Potter collection, Sarah became very interested in reading. Sarah likes all types of music, she quoted "I used to be picky but with moving around I had to change, especially living in Nashville so country grew on me." While living in Tennesee, she attended a Tom Petty concert which she described as awesome and a lot of people. Most girls enjoy shopping, but Sarah is the complete opposite. She explained that shopping makes her crabby and frustrated, especially if she has been shopping for a long time. Sarah also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Corey a member of the fraternity Delta Phi Omega. Sarah and Corey met at Frostburg State Univeristy through friends. Being part Armean, Sarahs favorite food is her families recipe of stuffed peppers. Although she does not have any dogs, she loves big dogs such as French Mastives and Huskies.

Like mentioned before, Sarah is very passionate about becoming a literature teacher stating "I'd rather teach literature then the whole grammar thing."

Jessica, you misspell four words. "Being" in the Hendersonville sentence is the wrong verb tense. You don't need the "in" in "in which she really enjoys." You misuse the word "quoted"; Sarah didn't quote anyone when she said that. You include three comma splices, which suggests you don't know where your sentences begin and end. "Off-campus" means "unrecognized," which Kappa Gamma Delta is not; Delta Phi Omega, however, is unrecognized and should be identified as such.

Go fuck yourself. DPO is just as real as any of the other fraternities at FSU.
