Sights Around Campus: Homecoming Week 2012

Dressing the Part-  Frostburg State University Freshman Samantha Johnson from Berlin, PA, might not have chosen her major yet, but she certainly knows what colors she's choosing for Homecoming weekend.  Here, she browses through Frostburg T-shirts in the University Store.

Informational and eye-catching, the display table set up by the FSU Diversity Center sported LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, and Queer) literature for National Coming Out Day on October 11th.  Victoria P. Snyder, the assistant director of the Diversity Center, spent the afternoon passing out colorful flyers in the Lane Center to explain LGBTQ terms and promote the special day.  One handout states, "To this day National Coming Out Day continues to provide a safe world for LGBT individuals to live truthfully and openly.  We celebrate this day in honor and in support of the LGBTQ Community."

It's time to light the lights...   Derek Farrell, an employee at FSU's Lane Center, helps hang lights and ready the stage for Friday the 19th's comedy night, a part of the 2012 Homecoming Week celebrations.  Although the Black Student Alliance had arranged for two comedians--Tone Bell and Ian Edwards--to perform, only Tone Bell was able to attend, according to the FSU events website.
