Question 6: Yes or No?
Voting day has arrived! Many Students at Frostburg State University prepare
today November, 6, 2012 to cast their vote in the election. The opinions of the
students on particular issues all differ from one another. The votes made by
students all over the world will have a huge impact on what laws are passed by
the government.
Question 6, is also known as the same sex referendum. Those voting in
Maryland can choose whether or not to vote for or against the Question. Some
argue that same sex marriage should be allowed due to all are equal to one
another. Others say that children need to grow up with fathers in their lives
and legalizing gay marriage is out of the question.
The Frostburg State University community shared their opinions on this
controversial topic. Professor Brassfield is a Philosophy teacher at FSU and
had a strong consensus about Question 6. When asked if she was for or against
the legalization of Gay Marriage she said, "Yes, I'm voting for Question 6
because the legalization of gay marriage is a matter of justice". She had
no comment on those who are voting against the Question.
Junior, David Knox also agreed that Question 6 should be passed. He is not
voting today in the election for "personal reasons" but is all for
the legalization of gay marriage. Tony Mancusso, A graduate student from
Frostburg State University voted today with an absentee ballot. He said,
"I voted for Question 6, and I personally believe that gay marriage should
be allowed in Maryland".
The votes from all people today, on election day, will help make major
changes in the world. The Frostburg State University community will be a part
of making this change. Question 6 is a controversial topic that will continue
to be discussed in the future.
