This Next Song Is By Adam Cosner

Arguably one of the most important things to have in life is drive. Without the drive to accomplish your dreams, life can seem empty. Adam Cosner, a junior at Frostburg State University, is one who means to accomplish his goals.

At 23 years old, Adam has a vision of himself as an author/ singer-songwriter. He is majoring in English (concentrating in creative writing) and minoring in music. This is, of course, the best way to begin the path to success in the field he desires to make his life. “I have always enjoyed writing and have a bit of an overactive imagination. So, I am hoping to put it to good use.” He is interested in horror stories and would like to start off with short stories of the kind, possibly about ghosts, monsters, or superheroes (because what guy doesn’t love a good superhero?). Humbly wanting to clarify, Adam confides, “I haven’t actually written anything yet, but that’s why I came here: I want to learn how.” He cites Stephen King as an inspiration, as any true horror fan would.  His favorite King work is the Dark Tower series, interesting novels that combine many genres.  He would love for his writings to become film someday, but, as he puts it, “I think I should probably write something first.”
His music, on the other hand, is further along in development. Adam is most drawn to modern rock, such as Breaking Benjamin and Day to Remember. He has written lyrics, though the music to compliment them has not yet come to him (for some of his work, visit www.allpoetry.com/cdudecosner). His inspiration comes to him in moments when he is bored; it just “pops into [his] head.” On his lyrics, he declares, “I like my newer pieces. I don't know if I could pick one that I like the best.”  Adam would love to be the one to sing his own songs eventually.
Naturally, Adam still has some time to go, as he is still in school. Writers have their work cut out for them, getting a foot in the door, getting published, getting recorded. A quote that is inspirational to Adam is from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland: "She often gave herself very good advice, but she very seldom followed it." Adam is a man who will both give himself good advice and follow it, and the world is awaiting his talent, even if they don’t know it yet.
