Bernard Agyakwa: Future Small Business Owner

Bernard Agyakwa: Future Small Business Owner
By Latrice Artis, ENGL 336.002

Bernard Agyakwa was born on January 19, 1993 in Ghana. He came to the United States of America with his parents when he was 6 years old and still resides in Montgomery County, Maryland. He speaks 2 languages; his native twi, and English. Agyakwa has 2 sisters who are older than him by 8 and 10 years, making him the baby. Agyakwa enrolled into Frostburg State University in 2011 and is still attending in his junior year. He decided to come to Frostburg because it was way cheaper than George Mason and Robert Morris University which he had also got into. Although he says “I hated it when I came and have been spending my last 2 years trying to leave”, he participates in a few campus activities such as EchoStars and campus ministries. He is also thinking about starting up his own campus ministry. Guitars are a spare time hobby for Agyakwa. He plays the Fender and Mitchell Acoustic. He majors in Public relations and minors in small business. His plans are to one day join a non-profit company and grow from that. He formerly played sports in high school where he tore both of his shoulders, dislocated his disk, and fractured his knee, still never getting surgery. When asked about his favorite vacation spots, he described California as perfect. That is one place that he would like to move after he graduates. Agyakwa is fairly reserved but has a lot to see in this world so be on the lookout for an up and coming small business owner.
