Whether he’s writing poetry, listening
to indie rap, or installing air conditioners, Joshua Matthew Van Horne is
living life to its fullest! Van Horne was born on June 8th, 1988 in
Brooklyn MD. He will be graduating from Frostburg State University this spring
with a Bachelors degree in English and a concentration in creative writing.
“I’m
the jack-of–all-trades”, Van Horne tells me in our interview. “I do a little
bit of everything”. Van Horne considers himself to be very outgoing; however he
would not have been able to say that four years ago. After high school
graduation Van Horne decided to jump on the college bandwagon. His first two years
were personally educating for various reasons, one of them being his dismissal
from FSU. After many long, and heated months of installing and repairing air
conditioners for his family’s business, Van Horne decided he was ready to give
college another try. Four years later this extremely passionate, humble, and
thankful person stands before you all.
Van Horne would love to do anything in
the creative filed, whether it is making movies, or writing a book. His listed
his most inspirational movies as Reservoir
Dogs, Friday, Lost in Translation, True Romance, and Rushmore. Van Horne also mentioned that he would
love to travel one day. If possible he
would visit Asia, preferably South Korea, or Japan. He also emphasized on his
"love" for Canada: “I have a weird love for Canada, I don’t quite
understand it”. When asked about his biggest fear in life, Van Horne responded
with a non-typical answer. “I fear not living up to my full potential”. He is
without a doubt a very hard working and humble person. In another life Van
Horne said he would be dating Scarlett Johansson and driving a 2013 Cadillac
CTS. However, this life is what truly matters and Van
Horne seems to be handling it perfectly! After getting to know this wonderful
young man, it is hard to imagine his future as being anything other than the
best!
